I'm giving everyone plenty of warning this year, so that we can generate a healthy load of entries. Here's the poop: The WRITERS 7th Annual Halloween Writing Competition: WHAT: Write a short horror story -- doesn't have to be specifically traditionally 'Halloweenish' -- but the spookier the better. LENTH: 3,000 words. No longer. No give on this. SEND TO: This one's important: Send entries to ME - Robyn Herrington - rmherrin@ucalgary.ca That way I can strip off your name and post the stories anonymously. That way, people can vote for the stories, not the writer. If you send your Halloween story to the list, you will be disqualified. Send them to ME! (Did I stress that enough?) DATE for entries: October 1st - October 15th, 1999. That gives us from October 15th to October 31st to read them all. Voting will take place on October 31st -- All Hallow's Eve. Winners will be announced on November 1st. WHAT DO I WIN? The top five winners will get a glass paperweight, made by my very own hot little hands. And, it so happens I'll be going into the studio on November 2nd, so there won't be a big lag time between winning and getting your prize! I'll remind everyone again as September rolls around.
