Subject:      [WRITERS] All: Monica's Erotica Contest

Please do not reply to this post on the list without changing the "All:"

Presenting the first erotica contest on Writers.  Here's the rules:


1. Since I want to encourage new writing, I am making a reference to Monica
Lewinsky a requirement.  If you have already written something with a
reference to her, please be honest and begin another.  It can be any kind
of reference, and doesn't need to be at length, it just needs to be a part
of the story, for example, something with the cigar....

2. Explicit sexual content is required.  If you haven't tried this before,
you may be surprised how difficult it can be to write about sex.  I am
making it a rule there be no non-consensual sex and no kiddie sex as these
can be distressing even to those who like erotica.  I know that might cramp
some styles, but hey, I get to write the rules, ok?

3. There should be a plot and character development, motivation, everything
else you would put into any other story you write.  Don't just jump in the
sack, have at it, and leave.  We want to care about your characters and
what happens to them.  That is a primary difference between porn and
erotica, in my opinion.

4.  Send entries directly to me, with the subject line, Sub: your title
****Monica's Erotica Contest Entry****  and I will forward the entries to
the list without your name on them.  I hope that is sufficient warning that
there will be adult content in the posts to those of you who would prefer
to delete them.  One entry per author, please.  If you submitted more, you
would be splitting the vote against yourself anyway.  Any stories
accidentally submitted directly to the list by the author will be
disqualified for the contest.

5.  Give me a chance, I will be reading the entries before forwarding them
to make sure they comply with the rules and I read slow, especially when it
is erotica.  8-)

6.  The deadline is midnight on Valentine's Day, February 14, your time
zone.  Voting will take place the rest of February, and winners will be
announced as soon as they are determined.  I will need a volunteer to help
tally the vote.  Let me know if you are interested, and don't intend to
submit anything to the contest.

7.  Prizes.  The winner will receive an original charcoal figure drawing
by, you guessed it, me.  The winner may choose the sex of the figure in
his/her prize. If there are sufficient entries to warrent it, I may extend
the prizes to second and third place as well.
