It was well after 1 p.m. when Xiao awoke. He opened his beady crossed eyes
and was overjoyed to see his plan working so well.

Rqy was standing on the shoulder of the road, the sun blazing down on him
and sweat dripping off his nose.

"Great!" Xiao shouted as he hopped up and strutted over to Rqy.  "Perfect."

"What's great? I'm standing here in the midst of a heat stroke and you've
just taken a four hour nap."

"Don't worry, Dad. Everything is working out just like I planned it."

"What plan?"

"Well, you know how when somebody uses the Dalai Lama synchronized
porta-transporter on themselves and they leave the transporter behind them?"

"Yeah. Like my poor sweet bride."

"Exactly.  Well, since none of us can afford to be left behind, the only
solution was to get us all properly transported. Also, we'll probably need
to use the thing again, and because it makes a real nifty flashlight, I
needed to figure out some way to keep it in my--er, our--possession, so I
came up with this almost a hundred per cent fool proof plan."

"Yes."

"I figured if the beam were aimed at a highly reflective surface, it would
bounce back and transport not only the transportee, but also the
transporter."

With that Xiao scrambled up on Rqy's shoulders and aimed the transporter at
the highly reflective surface of Rqy's bald and reddened scalp.  He turned
it on and there was a blinding flash as both Rqy and Xiao disappeared
forever from YuNan province.
