Venus twinkled on the horizon, reminding him of how much he missed his home. Suddenly he was engulfed in a pale-green light. "Whut th..." Billy awoke on a cold, metal table. His clothing had been removed and strange devices were attached to all parts of his body. An alien with a massive head and one small, red eye waddled over to Billy and examined him. "Rzmak." "Whut did yuh say?" Billy had been dealing with some strange accents of late, but this one was too far out, even for him. Then the alien twisted a dial on a metal machine hanging from its neck on a chain. "There, is this better, earthling? I am Monudo, and this is my compatriot, Marenko. We come from a distant galaxy to study you puny creatures. We have decided to make you our slave by wiping your mind." "The devil y' say?" "The accent will have to go as well." The second alien walked over and attached a bathroom plunger to Billy's head. "Begin sucking, now," it said. The first alien pulled a lever and Billy felt his memories begin to drain away. A few seconds later he was on empty. "Is that it?" The first alien squeezed Billy's head like a melon. "It's already empty? This human didn't use much of his mind for storage." "Perhaps he has an external hard drive and has downloaded his knowledge?" "Frak. If that's the case he will not make an acceptable slave. We should send him back, now." "Agreed." They woke Billy up. He looked up at them with a blank stare. "Who am I?" He said, in a perfect, mid-western accent. "You are Billy... Billy... uh..." The alien looked around for inspiration but found none. "Number 32," the second alien offered. "I'm Billy Number 32?" "That is correct." "Thank you." With that the aliens beamed him back to his rock - changed forever... ____________________________________________________________ CJ Vaughan chris.vaughn@ssa.gov Visit the future of WWW entertainment, The Soaps: http://members.tripod.com/~cvaughan/thesoaps.html.
