she's buried herself deep this winter
under piles of  problems
she won't admit to

she comforts herself
in the dark cocoon
and settles in with vials
that promise happiness

and now the dirt has thawed
the crocus peeps out bravely,
followed by perky daffodils
and bold tulips

and I wait for my friend
to break through
and bloom
