Date: Fri, 4 Jul 1997 22:53:00 -0400 From: Ray McDowell Subject: Re[2]: INT: PAAP: A New Arrival And being the swell gal she is, she plops herself down at a table, opens that suitcase full of Chili and Lime Tostitos, orders a Corona and a shot of Jameson's Irish whiskey, and makes herself at home. Just then, this strange looking guy, with a Mao hat and wearing the loudest polyester suit she's ever seen, lifts his head from June Cleaver's ample breast and says.... 'Chili Lime Tostitos!!' She smiles knowingly, knowing that she now has the upper hand, and she can get all the action she wants. To be continued.... Komrade Rqy eases his way over to Judy's table and tries not to drool. "Is this seat occupied?" he asks. "Honey, the only seat occupied at this table is the one I'm sitting in, and if I get the right offer I'll even share that one." "I see you have Chili & Lime Tostitos." "Why yes. I do seem to have brought along a package or two. Personally, I prefer Russian Cream with my Corona, but I thought I would be cordial. After all, Poetry teachers are notorious for their eccentricities." J. begins to flutter her eye lashes provocitavely. "By the way, do you happen to know a Raymond McDowell? He's giving poetry lessons around here somewhere." "Never heard of 'im, but the unconscious frog collapsed by the bleeding Arab waxes poetic at any given opportunity. I'm sure he would be happy to take on a protege.....for a price." "And what, pray tell, is the high-jumping frog's name?" "What's it worth to you," says Rqy, eyeing the Tostitos lecherously." "I don't make deals--unless it involves publishing contracts." "Our long tongued friend has an in with several publishers, although his own pen seems to have run dry for the moment, hence the pencil and Big Chief tablet." "Okay, I'll bite. Tell me the frog's name and I'll give you a bag." "Alcaemon. Alc for short." "Here's your bag." "Thanks," says Rqy, ripping open the bag and gorging himself with Tostitos. "But you'd better revive Alc or he might not come to before the contest." Judy chugs down her bottle of Corona, gets up and walks over to the frog, careful not to step on any broken glass. She nudges Alc with her shoe. Alc slowly regains consciousness. The first thing he sees when comes to is the fly that's taken up residence on Judy's shoulder. Komrade Rqy from HKSAR, P.R.C.
