But when you were tiny, child of mine, I’d search for wings through your crib rails. I’d touch your shoulders by the bump rest my hands on your velvet back, tickle you gently to watch you jump and not really miss the feathered lack. As you grew older and beautiful I swore that I was right and you had wings, but then you’d shriek and run some more and I’d wonder how my mother knew the things She laughed about and shown me.
