Should not centuries of loneliness have dampened all my senses, extinguished all trace of desire from this dark and weary soul? Yet it has not deterred the flame that now burns so brilliantly within this heart that isolation for many years could not subdue. Now the whisper of her name lingers so richly in my mind, pervading each and every thought and suffusing all my dreams. But the cadences of mortal hearts still drum sweetly at my ears, rousing vile hunger kept barely caged by steel bars of sorrow and regret. Yet knowing this she does not waver, the caress of her lips is no less warm for through her heart she can see beyond the monster...to the man...who is me. ------------------------------------------- Sig files are bumper stickers for the computer... without the gunky mess when you remove them.
