This is probably an artifact of the problem (which I still haven't gotten the right people to explain, so I'm not clear about it myself). Most of the messages that people have said came out in multiples I only recieved a single copy of, but I was "upstream" of the point where the beavers built their dam (or whatever the difficulty was). One of the characteristics of email is that sites do retry, which in some cases results in multiple copies (when the recieving site doesn't admit it got a copy, the sender must resend it...which makes sure you get the mail at least once, but can mean you get it more than once.)
