stumbled across it recently cleaning out files...

"How To Build A Future" by John Barnes

Interesting, if somewhat sketchy, article on how he projects social,
economic, etc. conditions.  Has a number of references to other articles
on how to build a world, etc.

I suppose I shouldn't call it sketchy - he tells you where to find the
formulas and figures to reproduce his work or make your own version, I
just wish he hadn't left the research up to the reader...
