Arman was born in Edina, Minnesota, May 30, 1984.  He received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2004.  Now at MIT pursuing a Ph.D., Arman's research focuses on intelligent sensor network design for geological carbon dioxide storage sites.  The final product will have three major benefits vis a vis current monitoring practices: first, it will reduce operator liability; second, it will enhance public confidence in carbon capture and storage (CCS) as a carbon dioxide mitigation option; and third, it will provide accurate accounting for storage sites, providing a reliable measure of how much CO2 is actually being isolated from the atmosphere.

Outside of research, Arman is an avid soccer player and is beginning to develop himself as a competitive runner.
