In 1999, MIT Medical opened a health care center in Lexington
for members of the MIT community who live or work in the
area, including employees of Lincoln Laboratory, Draper Laboratory,
and the Whitehead Institute. Today, MIT Medical/Lexington
offers internal medicine, pediatrics and several support
services.
The staff at MIT Medical/Lexington takes a family-oriented
approach to caring for patients. Since we see both adults
and children in the same facility, our physicians and nurses
bring their knowledge of family issues to the treatment of
individual family members.
Specifically, we offer:
- Internal medicine
- Pediatrics
- Laboratory
- Radiology: Urgent X-rays through Beth Israel/Children's
Hospital Medical Care Center in Lexington. Routine and specialized
Radiology services through MIT
Medical in Cambridge.
- Direct access to all the services at MIT/Medical
Cambridge
- Hospital care at MIT Medical's affiliated hospitals
- Prescription drugs through four daily deliveries from
the MIT Medical Pharmacy
in Cambridge
- Medical Emergency response to Lincoln Laboratory employees
during normal business hours.
Eligibility
All members of the Traditional and Flexible MIT Health Plans
for employees, as well as benefits-eligible employees, can
take advantage of the services at MIT Medical/Lexington.
Lincoln Laboratory employees who aren't MIT Health Plan members
can also see internal medicine doctors and nurses at the Lexington
facility for a free consultation if they qualify for MIT Medical's
Primary Care Benefit.
