This year's health-related lectures and workshops for the
MIT community include:
Parenting Groups
We sponsor two weekly support groups for parents: the Parents
and Toddlers Group and the New Mothers Group. Each session
is led by a child psychologist and features a presentation
and informal discussion around a specific topic.
IAP Workshops
During MIT's Independent Activity Period (IAP) each January,
we sponsor non-credit lectures and workshops on a broad
range of health issues. MIT Medical and Boston-area experts
present programs on everything from the claims of popular
diets to the tension-releasing benefits of Tai Chi.
Custom Workshops
Health educators from The Center for Health Promotion &
Wellness can design and conduct custom workshops and health
programs for your office, lab, residence hall, fraternity,
sorority, or independent living group. Workshops include
health information and interactive discussions focusing
on everything from sexual health issues to eating disorders
to stress management.
