Health 101 - Part 2
March 9, 2004

Here are 5 more quick and easy health tips that will help you achieve a healthier lifestyle. Remember that you don't have to add these health tips to your daily routine all at once. Pick and choose the ones that you like best. Be sure to come back and visit this email, along with last week's e-Well Tip, so that you will continue to create a healthier and healthier you!

Health Tips 6-10:

6 - REACH FOR THE STARS. Give your body the stretch it deserves. Take a few minutes each day to extend your arms over your head and reach, reach, reach. Your body will thank you! To find more relaxing stretches, visit MedlinePlus.

7 - CUT IT OUT. If you're a meat-and-potatoes-lover, try trimming off the visible fat before putting your steak or pork under the broiler. You'll still have the taste, but will be cutting the saturated fat (the cholesterol-causing fat) by quite a bit. To cut the fat even more, choose "loin" or "round" cuts.

8 - TRY SOMETHING NEW. Here are a few websites that offer quick and easy recipes that also keep your health in mind. Visit any or all of the following websites to find some new and healthy recipes: NCI Recipe Box, NHLBI recipes, American Heart Association Cookbook.

9 - TRY TO QUIT! Do you smoke? Have you tried to quit? Did you know it takes most people several attempts before quitting successfully? Visit trytostop.org, a free and extremely helpful website that can help you prepare to quit. Don't give up...you CAN do this!

10 - PICK UP THE PHONE. Looking for a way to relieve some stress at the end of the day? Call a friend or family member who makes you smile. Try to find a few minutes in your busy day to talk and laugh with people that mean a lot to you!
