The Traditional MIT Health Plan offers on-campus access to
a broad range of MIT Medical services and specialties delivered
by our staff of more than 100 physicians, psychologists, nurses,
social workers, and other health care professionals. Several
services are also offered at Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington.
As a member of the Traditional MIT Health Plan, you'll enjoy
the highest quality preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic
health care from people who work within your own professional
community.
Before choosing a new health plan, we encourage you to compare
other plans to the convenience and coverage of our Traditional
MIT Health Plan. If you receive treatment at MIT Medical,
or by referral at one of our affiliate hospitals, you'll be
covered for:
- Office visits
- Urgent care 24 hours a day
- Routine physical exams
- Routine eye exams
- A range of women's health care services, including gynecological
exams, mammograms, interrupted pregnancies, and maternity
coverage
- Outpatient psychotherapy evaluation and some treatment
at MIT Medical
- Inpatient care in cooperating hospitals or substance abuse
treatment facilities
- Special mental health and substance abuse benefits through
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
(BCBSMA) Managed Care Behavioral Health Network
- Acupuncture for pain management and serious medical conditions
at Massachusetts General Hospital or New England School
of Acupuncture
- Vision, hearing, cholesterol, and other screening tests
- Diagnostic, lab, and X-ray services
- Immunizations (with co-payments in some cases)
- Prescription drugs dispensed at MIT Medical, subject
to co-payments (or through a participating Express Scripts
pharmacy, subject to a higher co-pay)
- Emergency care
- Out-of-area
urgent and emergency care services
