After 17 years under coach Joe Quinn, MIT hockey got a few new faces behind the bench, and they made quite an impact. In 1998, Mark O'Meara took the reins and led the team to the National Club Championships in his first full season behind the bench. O'Meara's no-nonsense attitude has earned his players' respect and the work ethic he's instilled into the team is second to none.

Aided by Assistant Coach and brother Jimmy O'Meara, the two have compiled a record in four seasons of 61-16-4 (.753) with a New England Collegiate Hockey Association record of 41-8-2 (.803). The O'Meara Era has been one of significant success with 3 NECHA Championships, a NECHA runner-up and the previously mentioned trip to the National Club Championships in only four years.

Mark and Jimmy are not the only ones responsible for this success as their brother Chris "Froggy" O'Meara and lifelong friend Donnie McNeil also provide invaluable help and support both during practices and games.

All four coaches continue to play organized hockey and are natives of Somerville, MA.
