Have questions about safety on campus and in the area?

  • MIT Police are here to help students 24 hours a day! You can call them at 617.253.1212 or in emergency dial x100 from any campus phone.
  • Safe Ride is there for those late hours of study or socializing when you are wondering how to get to your residence hall, independent living group, or apartment safely. Contact: 617.253.2997.
  • Self-Defense: You can get Physical Education credit for taking one of the best women’s self-defense classes around: RAD [Rape Aggression Defense] course given by the MIT Campus Police.

Want to stay energized and healthy? Have questions? Women’s health and wellness can be an important part of your life at MIT!
Check out MIT Medical and the Center for Wellness and Health Promotion! Women students can receive free or low-cost health care at MIT Medical. Sexual health exams, breast exams, prescriptions for birth control, and other services are provided through Internal Medicine. Medical also has a full-service Obstetrics and Gynecology department which provides specialized care for sexual and reproductive health concerns. The Center for Health Promotion and Wellness at MIT Medical provides private individual consultations, a circulating library, and educational programming addressing many women’s health issues, such as nutrition, fitness, stress management, depression, eating disorders, and sexuality.
