The shop is open M-F 10–6 with 2 nights until 9pm and some Saturday hours see webpage. Exceptions are sometimes made when classes are being held.
The Hobby Shop is a well-equipped wood and metal shop open for the whole MIT community to pursue their building interests. Projects can be for personal use but many students find it a convenient place to do course, thesis or UROP work. Professionally staffed for advice and instruction, most new members are novices. There is a fee for membership — $30/ term or $75/year [3 consecutive terms] for students or their spouses.
