The Campus Activities Complex [CAC] provides stewardship for common community and event spaces across the campus in partnership with Facilities. These places include the Stratton Student Center, Stata Student Street, Walker Memorial, Kresge Auditorium, the MIT Chapel, the Religious Activities Center, Wong Auditorium, and other select spaces.
Looking for event space for your next meeting, conference, or party? CAC provides event planning and scheduling services for its spaces, including great outdoor locations, for MIT student groups and departments. We schedule over 22,000 reservations per year and facilitate over 15,000 events per year. Our professional managers help students to plan their important events while providing supervision and on-site support. In addition, CAC works closely with the Student Activities Office to help ASA-recognized student groups with their office space needs as well as their event needs.
Furthermore, CAC provides much of the event support logistics for large Institute-wide events such as Orientation, Family Weekend, Campus Preview, Commencement, and Reunions. If you have an event question about who does what on campus or where to get help, give CAC a call.
Looking to get married? MIT Community members can hold personal events such as weddings, baptisms, bar/bat mitzvahs, and receptions for these events in CAC spaces. Furthermore, CAC supports the MIT Chaplaincy and religious student organizations with their operation and space needs.
In addition, CAC oversees Tim the Beaver [MIT’s mascot], the Reading Room with seven small group study rooms, three piano practice rooms, and various lounges. Check out the Coffeehouse Lounge programs featuring entertainment, study breaks, and other fun activities. CAC, also, manages the Student Center retail portfolio and stewards student office space. Furthermore, CAC partners with the Office of Campus Dining on food venues within our facilities.
