The role of the Dean for Undergraduate Education is to support and enhance integrated student learning both inside and outside the classroom. This encompasses student-focused as well as faculty-focused educational initiatives throughout the Institute. These initiatives include:
- Partnering with faculty in developing and coordinating the undergraduate curriculum
- Promoting and expanding global educational opportunities
- Encouraging hands-on experiential learning
- Helping students succeed through mentors, advisors and effective learning strategies
- Increasing student diversity at all educational levels
- Advancing educational innovation through educational technology and research in learning
