Housing consists of several offices: Undergraduate Housing manages the assignments for undergraduate students, summer and guest housing. Graduate Housing takes care of housing for single graduate students and students with families. Off-campus housing provides resources for finding off-campus housing.

The Housing staff manages and oversees campus housing, summer and guest housing. Contact them about housing assignments, policies, room switches, and other inquiries about campus housing. The residential system is composed of eleven undergraduate residence halls. MIT’s housing system strives to create a living and learning space that facilitates personal and social growth while supporting academic excellence. There is a great diversity in lifestyle and culture in the residence system. The staff can be helpful in assisting students in selecting a place that is right for them.

The Graduate Housing Department coordinates housing assignments, policies, and other inquiries about Graduate housing. The residential system is composed of six single graduate residence halls and two graduate family housing apartment buildings. Off-Campus Housing Services

The Off-Campus Housing Service is a source for locating alternative housing in the area. The office has rental listings from owners and realtors for houses, apartments, shared apartments and rooms for rent in the Greater Boston Area. It provides maps, furniture information, legal information and a number of other related services before and during your tenancy. There are free telephones to arrange appointments, and the staff will be happy to review leases before you sign them. The service is open to all affiliates of MIT only.
