Mediation@MIT believes that conflict is a fact of life when there is more than one person in a personal or professional relationship. We also believe that conflict has the potential to be educational and creative, and can strengthen relationships if addressed effectively.
Mediation@MIT builds capacity within the Institute community to deal effectively with conflict. We do this by working with Institute students, faculty and staff to improve the skills; and by offering dispute resolution services to graduate and undergraduate students.
Mediation@MIT provides:
- Conflict resolution services that include:
- Confidential consultations
- Mediation for individuals or groups
- Coaching
- Facilitation services
- Training for the MIT community in mediation skills and the components of being able to more constructively deal with conflict
- Consultations for the MIT community regarding dispute resolution.
- Mediation@MIT will keep all conversations in confidence and will only share with the permission of all the parties – except with the unusual situation of imminent risk of serious harm to self or others.
