Mario Chady

Mario Chady started his career at age 17 working in international trade in Brazil. By age 22 he started his first company, kicking-off his career as an entrepreneur. In 1992, Mario opened his first restaurant in the high-end international sector in Brazil, and in the years that followed he launched and operated several food service establishments in Brazil.


In 1999, he opened the doors of the first location of Spoleto, a fast casual Italian restaurant, which is now the largest Italian food chain in all of Brazil. Mario Chady is now President of Grupo Umbria, the parent company that he founded in 2006 to manage all of the Umbria brands: Spoleto (285 locations), Domino´s (35 locations), and Koni Store (33 locations) and 2 food industries. He has expanded Spoleto outside of Brazil to include 23 locations in Mexico and 3 in Spain.
