Jorge Morán
Sovereign Bank and Santander Holdings, United StatesJorge Morán is President and Chief Executive Officer of Sovereign Bank and Santander Holdings, USA (SHUSA). In this role, he manages all the Group’s assets in the United States. He is also a member of Sovereign’s Board of Directors and serves on the Group’s management committee.
Jorge Morán joined the Santander Group in 2002 as Head of Asset Management. In 2005, he was appointed as Director of the Board and Chief Operating Officer of Abbey, Santander’s business in the U.K. Between 2006 and 2010, Jorge Morán served as Senior Executive Vice President of Banco Santander and as Head of its Global Insurance and Direct Banking Division.
Before joining Santander, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Stanley for Spain and Portugal and partner of AB Asesores, a brokerage and asset management company.
Jorge Morán earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business from the University ICADE in Madrid, Spain. He is married with two children.
