MIT-Chile Seed Funds

The MIT-Chile Seed Fund supports budding research collaborations between faculty and research scientists at MIT and their counterparts in Chile.

Through an annual call for proposals, the fund primarily supports travel costs for exchange between a team at MIT and colleagues in universities and public research in Chile. The Chilean colleague(s) must be identified in the proposal. The maximum award is $30,000.

Priority will be given to projects that:

  • propose a balanced exchange between the MIT and Chilean participants
  • demonstrate complementarity between the MIT and Chilean teams
  • include student participation

Projects with colleagues at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez or the Universidad Diego Portales must apply to those specific seed funds, below.

Three additional seed funds are available for collaboration with three universities in Chile:

> MIT-Chile - Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Seed Fund

> MIT-Chile - Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez Seed Fund

> MIT-Chile - Universidad Diego Portales Seed Fund

The MIT-Chile Seed Funds are a part of MISTI Global Seed Funds. All general MISTI Global Seed Funds criteria, application and evaluation procedures apply.
