MIT china

Through our partners here and abroad, MIT-China offers you an extensive range of opportunities in academia and industry. You can choose amongst industry, teaching, and research internships — even permanent jobs. Your role is to tell us your goals so that we can help realize your plans.

Who, what, when.

If you are an MIT student from freshman through graduate level or a recent alum, you are eligible to participate in the MIT-China Program. We will coordinate your interests with our partners in corporations, research institutions, universities, and high schools throughout Greater China. We encourage internships of ten weeks over the summer, or longer durations, so that you can develop a deep sense of what it means to live and work in a Chinese cultural setting. The longer your stay, the greater opportunity you have to establish a lifelong network of rewarding relationships.

Know your neighbors.

To make the most of your experience, it is helpful to be fluent in the language. With Chinese language preparation and a semester-long introduction to Chinese modern history and culture, you will have greater confidence to communicate and be productive in a Chinese professional and cultural environment.
