Great innovations don’t just happen. They require research, evaluation, organization and a drive for excellence. These skills run deep in Germany, as at MIT, and the MIT-Germany program joins some of the world’s finest engineers and scientists in collaborations with tremendous scope. Technical expertise and entrepreneurship are as critical for Germany’s export-oriented economy as they are for MIT.

Through the MIT-Germany Program, MIT students have:

  • designed VIP aircrafts at Lufthansa Technik
  • reduced computational time for OLED devices at Osram Opto
  • developed carbon nanotubes at Bayer
  • researched experimental plasma physics at a Max Planck Institute
  • built models for zero-energy housing in an architecture studio

We also provide an arena in which German leaders in business, science, politics, and culture can present their perspectives to an American audience. We organize events to engage the community, including conferences, films, lectures, and workshops.
