Scholarships Available for Study and Research
Bayer Science & Education Foundation promotes science and research, while focusing on health care, nutrition and high-tech materials. Bayer scholarships are open to students and university graduates who have graduated less than two years ago. DAAD Study Scholarships are awarded to highly qualified graduating seniors and graduate students of all disciplines. They provide an opportunity to study in Germany or complete postgraduate or master's coursework at a German higher education institution.
The deadline for applications in music, visual arts, and performing arts is November 1. The deadline for applications in all other fields is November 15. For more information, please visit: www.daad.org/?p=gradstudy_arts.
DAAD Research Grants are primarily awarded to highly qualified PhD candidates, but also to students with a master's degree and postdoc researchers. The grants are for research or training at universities and German institutes for one to ten months.
The grant deadline for the 10-month scholarship is November 15. For short-term scholarships: August 1 (for visits between January 1 and June 30) and November 15 (for visits between July 1 and December 31). For more information, visit: www.daad.org/?p=gradresearch.
DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) give rising sophomores and juniors a chance to spend the summer conducting research with German doctoral students. All participants receive stipends from DAAD to help cover living expenses. For information, go to: http://www.daad.de/rise/en/.
DAAD RISE Professional (PRO) offers professional internship placements that provide students an opportunity to live and work in an international context, gain confidence in their practical and professional skills, and improve their German. Alexander von Humboldt Foundation — German Chancellor Scholarships are a year-long award for professional development, studies, or research for seniors in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron — Summer Student Program Each summer DESY offers undergraduate students in physics or related natural science disciplines the opportunity to participate in the research activities of the laboratory. UROP at RWTH Aachen includes three components: a research internship, German language course, and leisure time to introduce students to German science and culture.
