Linguistic and cultural competency is a key factor in a successful internship experience. Internships with the MIT-Germany Program are embedded in a language and culture curriculum.
The MIT-Germany Managing Director works with each student to develop a plan of study for German language and culture before, during, and after the internship.
You will need to submit
- Official Transcript. Please have an official transcript sent directly to the MIT-Germany Program office.
- Resume. Host companies and institutions require an updated resume from candidates.
- Tailored letters. After deciding which companies you would like to apply to (with the help of the MIT-Germany Program Coordinator), please write a brief (one page) description of what you hope to achieve with an internship. Companies want to know your background, experience, research interests, and how you fit into their research environment.
- Recommendations. You will need to submit two written recommendations. One recommendation should be from an MIT professor and the other should be from a former supervisor.
Application deadline
If you are interested in applying for an internship, we accept applications on a rolling basis. However, to qualify for early placement, application packages are due on October 31.
Send applications to: mit-germany@mit.edu
