Preparing for your internship in Israel


Once you have been matched with a host company or research institution in Israel, we will work with you to prepare for your trip. Preparations include:

  • taking a course on Israeli history and culture and several MISTI MIT-Israel training sessions
  • signing a Risk and Release form
  • purchasing airline tickets
  • obtaining a visa
  • finding housing
  • connecting with your host in Israel to prepare for your internship
  • picking up your stipend (approximately 5% of stipend is given after program requirements are fulfilled in August)
  • taking a look at the MISTI MIT-Israel Student Page so you have an idea of the city you're going to

MIT-Israel training

Students are expected to attend several training sessions and a daylong retreat throughout the spring to familiarize themselves with Israeli culture and society. Topics include Israeli politics, industry, research, current events and culture. Accepted students will receive a schedule.
