Consorzio

From 2004 to 2010, the Consorzio Italia MIT has promoted exchanges and collaborations between MIT and many of Italy’s best doctoral programs and departments. Launched in partnership with prof Giorgio Einaudi, Italy’s scientific Attache in Washington, the assistance of MIT-Italy Scientific Committee and the generous support of the Fondazione Silvio Tronchetti Provera, the Consorzio has brought to MIT more than forty Italian PhD students, while several MIT students have interned at our Italian partner institutions.

The Consorzio will cease to exist in 2011, but the MIT-Italy Program is continuing to pursue its mission through a few select, more extensive partnerships modeled after the Progetto Rocca and the MITOR Project. We are interested in launching 2 or 3 similar partnerships with Italian institutions whose research focus and academic tradition complement MIT’s. If interested, please contact us.
