Students
You are now entering Japan.
Welcome to your network. Through our partners here and abroad, we offer you an extensive range of opportunities in academia and industry. You can choose among internships, research collaborations — even permanent professional positions. Your role is to tell us your goals so that we can optimize your experience.
Who, what, when.
If you are a sophomore, junior, senior, graduate student, or recent alum, you are eligible to participate in the MIT-Japan program. We will coordinate your interests with our partners in corporations, research institutions, universities, and other institutions in Tokyo and throughout Japan. We encourage stays of three months or longer so that you develop a deep sense of what it means to live and work in Japan. The longer your stay, the more opportunity you have to establish a lifelong network of rewarding relationships.
Know your neighbors.
To make the most of your experience, you must be comfortable with the language. With four semesters of Japanese and a semester-long introduction to Japanese culture and society, a retreat, and spring training, you will have the confidence you need not only to communicate, but to be productive in a Japanese professional and cultural environment.
