Preparing for your internship in Japan
Once you have been matched with a host company or research institution in Japan, we will work with you to prepare for your trip. Preparations include:
- attending MIT-Japan training sessions
- obtaining a visa
- purchasing airline tickets
- finding housing in Japan
- info about your stipend and banking
- receiving health insurance
- signing a risk and release form
Housing in Japan
Housing, airfare, and basic living expenses are all covered. If your host institution does not arrange for your housing, we will help you to find suitable accommodation. In most Japanese metropolitan areas, a number of companies offer fully furnished guest rooms and apartments. Please refer to the links below for more information.
