Undergraduate requirements

Language: Have completed Spanish IV at MIT or demonstrate an equivalent level by the start of the internship, if you are not sure of your level contact us.

Standing at MIT: You must have a grade-point average of at least 4.0 or better.

Recommendations: You will need to submit two written recommendations.

Take one Mexico related Course (strongly recommended): Take an MIT or Harvard Course on Mexico or Latin America. MIT courses such as:

    17.145 (HASS-S) Fall 2011 course. PE of Technology & Development in Latin America

    21F.084J Introduction to Latin American Studies

    21F.711 Advanced Spanish Conversation and Composition: Perspectives on Techonolgy and Culture

    21F.739 Twenieth and Twenty-First Century Hispanic and American Literature

    21F.714 Spanish for Bilingual Students


Grad requirements

Grad students are exempt from the formal language requirement. However, they are strongly urged to learn the language, and a basic knowledge is required by many of our hosts.
