Preparing for your internship in Mexico
Once you have been matched with a host company or research institution in Mexico, we will work with you to prepare for your trip. Preparations include:
- attending MIT-Mexico training sessions
- obtaining a work permit and visa
- purchasing airline tickets
- finding housing in Mexico
- info about your stipend and banking
- purchasing health insurance
- signing a risk and release form
MIT-Mexico training
Students are expected to attend several training sessions throughout the spring to familiarize themselves with Mexican culture and society. Topics include Mexican politics, industry, research, current events and culture.
