MIT Spain
"It was incredibly eye-opening to work at such a large player like Iberdrola in the renewable industry, as well as observing how Spain and the rest of Europe tackle their energy challenges. My internship in Madrid allowed me to both directly extend my education abroad and to appreciate how our way of thinking fits into the global context. Many of society’s larger problems cannot be solved within the borders of a single nation, and programs like MISTI are providing the cross-boundary exchange of intellectual capital which is so critical".
- Cash Fitzpatrick, Masters in Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
I want to go to Spain!
The MIT-Spain Program facilitates dynamic connections between the thinkers and ideamakers of the MIT community and their counterparts in Spain. Drawing from an extraordinary network of corporations, universities, and research institutes, the MIT-Spain Program aims to be as vital and multifaceted as the country it represents.
Through the MIT-Spain Program, MIT students have
- networked with some of Spain's top business leaders and entrepreneurs;
- explored renewable energy, mobility, and water conservation during summer courses in Barcelona;
- visited one of Europe's most powerful supercomputers.
The Spanish culture has never been all about business and neither is MIT-Spain. The program sponsors lectures, film festivals, and in-depth cultural orientations.
