Build mutually productive relationships
MISTI host companies and labs provide MIT students with pivotal personal and professional experiences. Many say that their organizations benefit just as much as the students do. They report that MIT students bring fresh perspectives, late-breaking knowledge and invigorating enthusiasm to these new environments.
How it works
- Working closely with our host partners, MISTI program coordinators recruit MIT students and match them with a host and project.
- Projects are designed to align the skills and interests of the student with the needs of the host.
- MISTI prepares the students and insures that all logistical and administrative arrangements are made.
- Internships can last three to 12 months and occur throughout the year, though most are three-month summer internships.
- When possible, hosts provide a stipend to cover internship costs.
