What is MISTI?
MISTI: MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives
International collaboration is a pivotal and permanent phenomenon that MIT wants every student to experience firsthand. After all, hands-on experience is what the Institute credo Mens et Manus is all about. And it's why we go to great lengths every year to connect hundreds of students to internships and study programs around the globe.
A network of networks
MISTI is the hub of a network of country programs. Each country program is at the core of a network of sponsoring organizations that includes many of the world's leading universities, research labs, corporations, and NGOs. MISTI students have worked on the future of the Ferrari in Italy, on the evolution of wireless technology in Tokyo, and on the creation of an HIV-AIDS program in India. MISTI also supports MIT faculty in cross-border collaborations, and organizes events for the MIT community with global leaders from industry, academia, politics and culture.
Origins
Since 1994, MISTI has pioneered international collaboration among members of academia and industry, among audacious thinkers from many nations and disciplines. In the realm of global programs, MISTI is among the best in the world — our students, faculty, and international partners have made it so.
