Spanish royalty visit Boston

Princess Cristina from Spain (center) and her husband Sir Iñaki Urdangarin (center, second row) met with Boston area Spanish Professors and Spanish Researchers at the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University. MIT participants included Professor Manuel Martinez Sanchez, Dr. Mercedes Balcells and Professor Margery Resnick. The Dukes of Palma were in Boston to inaugurate the exposition at the Museum of Fine Arts; El Greco to Velazquez: Art during the Reign of Philip III.

The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce Visit

MIT students with Mr.Josep Maria Cervera, (Director of International Area, Barcelona Chamber of Commerce).
19 MIT students studying Spanish in Madrid had the opportunity to travel to Barcelona to learn about the city's history, culture and role in industry. The visit was sponsored by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce. There was also a networking session where students mingled with executives from local companies.
Telefonica I&D visit

During the visit to Telefonica I&D in Madrid, students were given a tour of the Digital Home which displayed the companies newest and most cutting edge technolgies and applications for ones' home. The visit was followed by an interactive talk with the Director of Innovation.
