MIT/WHOI Joint Program turns 40!

The Joint Program has turned 40 years old in 2008! To help celebrate this important milestone, the Joint Program will be hosting a symposium and reception at MIT on Thursday, September 25, 2008. See full details.
This 40th celebration begain at the March 2008 Ocean Sciences meeting in Orlando, Florida, when a reception was held at Sea World.

Joint Program Commencement at WHOI

 Formal commencement ceremonies are held each year at MIT. In the past, on the decadal anniversaries of the founding of WHOI, the Institution held its own formal commencement celebration. To mark WHOI's 75th anniversary, the institution hosted a Joint Program commencement in September 2005. It is the fifth time since the MIT/WHOI Joint Program was founded in 1968, that commencement ceremonies were held at WHOI.

Future commencement ceremonies will be held at WHOI every five years.
