Deferral of MIT/WHOI Joint Program Offer of Admission

If an applicant to the MIT/WHOI Joint Program is made an offer of admission, and accepts that offer, he/she is able to defer entrance to the Joint Program for up to one year without reapplying.

When admitted, the student must complete and submit the MIT Reply Form noting his/her intended starting date for the Joint Program. Additionally, by February 1st of the next application season, the student must notify the WHOI Associate Dean, in writing, his/her intention to enroll in the MIT/WHOI Joint Program. This letter should state a starting date of June or September of that year.
