Boston Harbor Islands Ferry
~ Georges Island or Spectacle Island Cruise
Boston, MA
$15 (regular $17)
Open May 14-October 9

Steeped in history, legend and natural beauty, get away on a summer's day to either Georges Island or Spectacle Island ~ both a short jaunt from Long Wharf. George's Island, a frequent haunt of a reputed ghost known as the Lady in Black, is a Civil War Monument unto itself. Learn more about the island's history at its new museum, take in the stunning view of the Boston skyline, and more.  A relaxing summertime escape, right at the front doorstep! Tickets can be used anytime during the 2017 season (no blackout dates), and are exchanged at the Boston Harbor Cruises ticket booth for the preferred cruise date/time. Call Boston Harbor Cruises at 617-227-4321 to make a reservation by phone, then exchange the discounted Spectacle Island or George’s Island ticket at the Ferry Center at Long Wharf, North (Christopher Columbus park side). Ferry leaves from Boston Long Wharf (near New England Aquarium) to either Georges Island or Spectacle Island.

Boston Opera House, Boston, MA
Purchase by October 6

This duo of astonishing contemporary works features the North American premiere of Obsidian Tear, a co-production with The Royal Ballet. A work of stunning artistic vision by their Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor (and Harry Potter Movement Director), inspired by the symphonic poetry of acclaimed composer Esa-Pekka Salonen. Powerful and sexy, athletic and dramatic, violent and vulnerable, the ballet highlights the athleticism of nine male dancers while capturing the emotional and social forces exerted on human life. It is accompanied by a world premiere by Boston Ballet's Resident Choreographer Jorma Elo, set to Jean Sibelius' glorious "5th Symphony;" and an orchestra performance of Sibelius' rousing and turbulent tone poem, "Finlandia."
