Mens et manus fund: Rebuild L'Aquila’s School of Engineering
The recent earthquake which struck the L’Aquila region not only caused victims amongst the student population, but also severely damaged the University and the School of Engineering.
Rebuild L'Aquila’s School of Engineering Fund, the project ideated by MITaly (MIT Italian Club), in collaboration with our partners, calls for donation to the University at the city of L'Aquila.
The fundraising effort is proposed to take place as follows:
1. In a four month timeframe (May 1st to September 1st, 2009);
2. Due to current uncertainty in damage estimates, the following incremental tentative targets have been set:
A. Level 1: 10,000 dollars – Laboratory equipment
B. Level 2. 50,000 dollars – Laboratory instrumentation
C. Level 3. 200,000 dollars – Rebuilding of classrooms
D. Level 4. 500,000 dollars or greater – Reconstruction of buildings
