Meating called to order 19:44 on 09.10.2006 Alya: I delegate to Yuran. Yuran: There's beef, you should eat it. If you didn't help cook, you should help clean up afterwards. We're the MIT student organization that promotes the consumption of beef on campus. We have various events throughout the year, usually meals like this one. This is the first meating of term, and the second meating is the elections meating. We accept nominations at this meating. I'm the divine bovine, who doesn't have official responsibilities but does a lot. You can nominate someone to this position, but you won't get elected. Alya: I'm the master carver, who is president. Lanthe: I'm the painted doll. I deal with reimbursements for receipts, and also do some advertising of beef. Eric: I'm the watchful cow. I take minutes. Yuran: Andrea is the cow with staple gun. She does publicity, utilizing her creativity to its full extent. Alya: Nominate Yuran for divine bovine. Lanthe: Nominate everyone to current position. Eric: Nominate Tim for Divine Bovine. Lanthe: Nominate Tim for Watchful Cow. [Some discussion by Tim and Eric about removing Watchful Cow, or at least the requirement that he takes minutes. Really, what's the point of writing this?] Alya: What ideas do we have for events? Lanthe: Beef caroling. Yuran: Every year we go around campus beef caroling. We're going to do this at the end of term. Alya: Another thing we do regularly is get lunch from Redbones and serve free lunch during Finals week. Alya: If anyone knows people who work in the beef industry, so we could have speakers. Jennifer (jbuz): My father works in a slaughterhouse, he's coming parents weekend, so he might be willing to talk then. Alya: Also beef cookoff, we can probably get the Redbones 4-course dinner for 2 again as a prize. Email us recipes at mitbeef@mit.edu, and we'll make one at the next meating.
