MIT Cable Television's World TV Lineup


MIT Cable Television, with assistance from the Foreign Languages and Literatures section, has put together a channel offering that includes some of the best programming from around the world.



W19AU (channel 19 Boston) is an affiliate of Canal SUR. Canal SUR offers news, talk shows, entertainment and children's programming from Central and South America and the Carribean. W19AU can be seen on MIT Cable channel 6. MediaOne subscribers on campus can see W19AU on channel 19.




China Central Television is the national TV network of the People's Republic of China. CCTV-4, also known as CCTV International, presents a variety of programming about China's politics, economy, society and culture. Programs are presented in Chinese or English at different times during the day. A schedule for CCTV-4 can be seen at: http://www.cctv.com/english/schedule/epro_frame.html. CCTV-4 is on MIT Cable Television channel 23, or channel 49 for MediaOne subscribers.


Deutsche Welle TV programming includes news, business, science, culture, sports, travel and entertainment in either German or English. MIT Cable Television carries DW TV on cable channel 24, or channel 50 for MediaOne subscribers. Deutsche Welle Radio 1, a German language service, offers news, business news, features and magazine programs and music. DW Radio 1 can be heard on MIT Cable Television channel 12. A schedule for DW Radio 1 can be found at http://www.dwelle.de/dpradio/Welcome.html.




International Channel provides programming from around the world in more than 25 languages. See news, sports, international cinema and entertainment programming "in your language." TV5 is a French language satellite channel currently broadcast in over 100 countries with an estimated audience of 80 million households. Programming on TV5 includes movies and dramatic series, news, magazine shows, culture, adventure, travel, entertainment and lifestyle shows. MIT Cable Television carries TV5 on cable channel 33. WUNI (channel 27 Boston) carries programming from Univision as well as locally produced programs. Univision programming includes news, sports, comedy, music specials, movies, and children's shows. WUNI can be seen on MIT Cable channel 32. MediaOne subscribers on campus can watch WUNI on channel 27.
