MIT TechCASH Card System

Conference policies:

General Policies:

Cards can only be used during the year they are issued. No cards from a previous conference year can be re-used.

All card requests should be made via Conference Card Order web form (http://www.mit.edu/mitcard/techcash/conference.html)

All change requests should be emailed to techcash@mit.edu

Account Set-up:

5-7 business days* required for all new card orders

$3 for magnetic (Mag) stripe cards / $8 for Mag/Proximity Chip (Prox) cards

No fee for standard TechCASH setup – including card activation, restrictions on locations that cards can be used, initial deposit, end of month/conference usage reports.

TechCASH balances can be reset per conference group, once a week, only if all cards are reset to the same amount.

*All new orders requested with less than 5 business days notice incur a $25 Service fee.

Change Orders:

Adding or modifying cards (including adding money, cards or changing location restrictions)

Conference Plan changes (all cards)

$10 per change order

$1 per card

Replacing cards: $15 per card

Additional Services:

$3 fee for each individual card transaction or additional specialized usage report.

$25 set up fee for weekly balance resets for individual cards for different amounts
