MIT students, affiliates and friends of MIT students have been playing cricket for the past couple of years. In the year 1996, MIT Cricket Club was formed by a group of cricket enthusiasts from India and Pakistan. The group of players graduated from MIT, and still run the club to play cricket tournaments. However after their graduation, the team members embarked on to their careers and MIT university lost the presence of a full time club or a registered club. The club was therefore inactive for a long period of time.
This summer, a group of cricket enthusiasts, decided to revive the club, and give a fresh start to cricket. Their new formation was called MIT Cricket Club or simply MIT Cricket T. The club has received supportive feedback from various corners, and is now preparing to host the first MIT Cricket Tournament this Fall.
