To Employees of MIT:

The MIT Campus Police Association has learned during negotiations with MIT that MIT may have maintained unlawful compensatory time practices prior to August 27, 1998.

In particular, the Association believes that for an extended period of time MIT gave its employees time off as compensatory time instead of paying overtime at one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek. This is a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

If you were given compensatory time off instead of overtime pay for time worked before August 27, 1998, you may be entitled to lost overtime pay. Anyone interested in pursuing a claim for overtime pay should contact:
