Laboratory for Energy and the Environment
The Laboratory for Energy and the Environment (LFEE), an integral part of the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI), fosters collaboration among industry, government, academia, nongovernmental organizations, and the public to address not only the complex interrelationships between energy and the environment, but also the technological, economic, and social aspects of sustainable energy development and use.
LFEE's mission is to make significant innovative contributions to energy and environmental sustainability, including the improvement of technologies, structures, and policies that will lead to cleaner, more effective, efficient, and equitable products and processes.
Graduate fellowships at MIT are vital support for MIT's interdisciplinary research in energy, the environment, and sustainability topics. The Martin Family Society of Fellows for Sustainability, offered through LFEE, specifically supports research that crosses academic departments and addresses pressing global issues. The Martin Family Society Fellowships fosters graduate level research, education, and collaboration in sustainability.
