Application
Timeline
Junior year
of high school
October
- MITES online
and printed applications are available .
- Student can register
to take the PSAT, which will qualify them for National Merit Scholarships.
Students should see their high school counselor for more information.
December
- Applicant should have taken
the PSAT or SAT I
examination by this time.
February
- Applicant must submit completed
application with all required attachments by the deadline stated on
the application.
March
- MITES office
processes applications and sends confirmation of receipt of completed
applications.
April
- A committee of MITES
and MIT faculty, administration, students, and instructors read applications
and select participants.
- The MITES office
sends decisions to all students who submitted complete applications.
May
- MITES office
sends selected students additional required forms that are due by the
end of the month.
June
- Participants arrive on the
MIT campus.
- The program starts.
August
- The program ends.
- Participants return home.
